If Microsoft makes an announcement we don't see "Satya Nadella's new Xbox".
When Google does something you don't see "Sundar Pichai's new AI".
Why do talented and hardworking engineers get ignored just specifically if this one person happens to be their boss?
Is it nothing other than they think it'll get more clicks worded that way? Or do people really think Twitter, Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI all have exactly one employee sitting by himself in a big, vast, empty office?
Musk could hire other engineers and they would still achieve pretty much the same results. Those xAI engineers though can go elsewhere, but there is close to 0 chance they would achieve the same thing there. Leadership is important and we tend to forget it lately.
Now, weather this leadership leads in the right direction here is up to debate. I personally don't think so. But the speed at which they build it is in itself an achievement, and it happened under Musk.
PS. Praise from Jensen Huang who just sold them those 100k GPUs is very funny though. It's not like the guy would say that they are all useless.
