    For anyone confused, 'authorization' means 'authorization by Bambu', not by the owner of the printer. You, consumer serf, are not authorized to control your own bought-and-paid for devices. Your role is just to part with your money, but the corporation will decide what you're allowed to do with 'your' property.

    But I'm confused this doesn't break the CFAA - if I sabotage other people's computers, that would be a crime. But if Bambu does it, it is allowed? After all, Bambu has no more claim of ownership over these machines than any random person off the street.

    There is now a set of critical operations, among them starting printing operations via LAN which "unauthorized third party tools" are no longer allowed to perform.
